About this event

Andy Fowler: Chicken Man is on Friday 6 November 2026 at Cock and Hoop, Nottingham, with doors at 19:10. Tickets start at £11, including the booking fee.

Following last year’s completely unhinged, critically tolerated hour of existential dread, Andy Fowler returns with another brand-new sermon on identity, resentment, jazz and panic. This year, he’s targeting the "creeping madness" of the affluent middle class—specifically the organic, soil-health-obsessed, sourdough-baking psychopaths of West Bridgford. He’s spent the last 12 months closely watching his neighbours (including an emasculated former bassoonist and a regional manager whose children are named after artisanal cheeses). From chemical warfare against garden weeds to the tactical advantages of a sit-down wee, this is a show about surrendering to the chaos. Pull up a stool, lower your expectations, and embrace the rhythm. It’s not a tight-five, it’s comedy jazz.

Stevie Parker: Big Bloke With Big Jokes

Cock and Hoop · Nottingham

My Birthday Production, in conjunction with Darth Vader Felt My, Presents Stevie Parker - Big Bloke with Big Jokes Expect something old, something new, something borrowed, nothing (ish) blue. AND NOT ONLY THAT a WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT of 1001 Jokes (in Order) in 55 minutes will be Attempted at Each Show. This is a Work in Progress and not a Contractual Binding Legal Commitment that it will be achieved on the night. This event has never been reviewed by anyone (except for the Mrs who said it was Rubbish!!!), so you could be the first and who knows also witness the premiere of the successful World Record Attempt. I’ve been telling stories and ‘Dad’ Jokes ever since I can remember. In fact, ever since Dad jokes were just Toddler jokes. Now, however, my jokes are 'Full Groan' and my stories are too. I will reference my childhood and memory constantly throughout the Show. Coincidentally, my first ever memory was being dragged to the optician by my dad, everything before that was a blur!! I started out for real after going down proper with the ‘Comedy bug’ a couple of years ago. I did open Mics wherever I could and often did slots at Music sessions just to gain experience and tim...

Jürgen Strack: Achtung! The Germans are Coming

Cock and Hoop · Nottingham

Achtung! The Germans Are Coming is the first solo show in Nottingham from German comedian Jürgen Strack, arriving hot on the heels of his Edinburgh Fringe run. Blending storytelling, character comedy, and sharply observed cultural chaos, Strack explores what happens when precision meets honest foolishness - and why it rarely ends well. Expect tales of misunderstanding, over-interpretation, and the peculiar logic of a man trying to make sense of Britain while insisting everything can be improved with structure. Part stand-up, part social experiment, part accidental philosophy lecture - all delivered with unapologetic Jürgen logic and energy. Expect controlled chaos, questionable logic, and unexpectedly large quantities of sauerkraut.

Saul Henry: The Church of Saulentology

Cock and Hoop · Nottingham

Saul Henry returns with his latest solo comedy Work In Progress show where he asks: 'Why join a cult when you can start your own?' Raised by atheists (with a Mormon Nana), Saul has spent his life chasing happiness, exploring oddball beliefs and cults, and dabbling in spiritual practices—until he accidentally almost joined one himself. Now, when companies, billionaires and tech bros command followings that would make cult leaders weep with envy, what isn't a cult these days? In 'The Church of Saulentology', Saul reaches his enlightened conclusion: true happiness means inventing your own ridiculous doctrine. And he's here to show you how- featuring a deeply unsettling Childcatcher-Colonel Sanders-Noseybonk-like figure who serenades unsuspecting chickens into the fold. Irreverent, thought-provoking, and absurdly funny. Tithing not required, but blind devotion is encouraged.

Arthur Smith W.I.P

The Canalhouse · Nottingham

"The title of this show stands for 'Work in Progress' or 'Weekend in Paris' or possibly both. I'm writing this in May so l've no real no idea what I'll be saying to you in November. But I can assure you, whatever it is, it will be funny, ridiculous, profound or maybe none of these. But I can guarantee that, unless I have died between now and then, I will turn up. "There are Fringe legends and then there is Arthur Smith" Bruce Dessau (Evening Standard) "He's not as funny as me" - Donald Trump
