About this event

Iona Lane is on Monday 5 April 2027 at Green Note, London, with doors at 19:00. Tickets start at £15.40, including the booking fee.

Swilkie is the new album from Highlands-based songwriter Iona Lane. Charting at #23 in the Official Folk Album Charts, Swilkie weaves ecology, conservation, islands and folklore into poetic songs and contemplative melodies. Written during three residencies on the Isle of Eigg, Isle of Mull and Sanday in Orkney, sense of place and landscape are at the core of these songs. From basking sharks to lighthouses, lichen to vanishing islands, curlews to tree planting; the album was recorded in a boathouse on the West Coast of Scotland and the eager listener may even hear the lapping sound of the tide murmuring through the album. Iona’s connection to places by the sea is translated through these songs with evolving vocal melodies, subtle guitar and droning shruti box. “It stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it… Haunting, touching, atmospheric, loving it!” – Mark Radcliffe BBCR2 “Swilkie is a masterful album full of heartfelt emotion and breathtaking songwriting” – KLOF Mag “Swilkie is evocative of coastline, nature & history, much like the sound of wind & sea reflecting Iona’s airy, light & gentle voice.” – RnR

Grace Elizabeth Harvey

Green Note · London

Grace Elizabeth Harvey wrote her EP Songs of Devotion from deep within the tangles of language and love. Formed by train journeys, second-hand bookshops and borrowed sofas, what has presented itself is a collection of songs as dynamic and exploratory as they are simple and sincere. With a background as a classical cellist and student of literature and philosophy, Grace unites the traditional with the exploratory to capture deeply moving fragments of our experience, inspired by the likes of Laura Marling, Leonard Cohen and Madison Cunningham. She won the Young Songwriter’s Competition 2025 and has since been awarded the PPL Momentum Accelerator Fund for her upcoming EP, Songs of Devotion. With a penchant for exceptionally captivating live performances, receiving praise from national press (BBC Introducing, Still Listening, Narc, FATEA, Folking) and grassroots fans alike, Grace is quickly proving herself to be of the UK’s finest emerging songsmiths and a ‘n...

TARA CLERKIN TRIO

Scala · London

TARA CLERKIN TRIO formed in Bristol (where none of them are from yet all of whom are deeply engrained) in 2020. Despite the singular authority implied by its name, they consist of the titular Tara Clerkin, her partner Sunny Joe Paradisos, and Sunny’s brother, Patrick Benjamin. With two extraordinary mini-albums – In Spring (2021) and On The Turning Ground (2023) – making a splash on London’s formidable World of Echo label in wake of their self-titled 2020 debut, their new album Somewhere Good LP is in many ways the band’s most realised work. In running their usual gauntlet of idiosyncratic (*an overused adjective for which here there is regrettably no sufficient alternative) approaches, Clerkin & Co. color in and outside of compositional lines over the course of 40+ celebratory minutes - never wallowing, despite inherently somber subject matters of self-defeat, disease, displacement, restlessness, gentrification - allowing their arrangements and improvisations ample space and time to situate, stretch out, breathe, cross-pollinate, and ultimately take deeper hold on the listener’s imagination – all while somehow sounding more like themselves than ever before.
