MARK PONTIN IS WHAT'S KNOWN AS A 'LIFER'. SOMEONE WHO HAS DEDICATED THEIR LIFE TO CREATING, PERFORMING AND PRACTICING MUSIC. 'WHEN I WAS SMALL MY MOTHER USED TO SHOUT UP THE STAIRS AT NIGHT AND TELL ME TO STOP SINGING AND GO TO SLEEP. I'VE ALWYS HAD MUSIC IN MY HEAD AND LISTENED MUCH MORE CLOSELY THAN MOST OF MY YOUNG FRIENDS WERE DOING, WITH A FASCINATION. FOR ME IT IS A COMPULSION , A NECESSITY, FOR IT IS PART OF MY BEING AND THE DEFINITION OF WHO I AM. WHEN I DISCOVERED THE GUITAR IT JUST SEEMED LIKE I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO THIS, AND IT WAS JUST A NATURAL PROGRESSION TO SONGWRITING AND MAKING RECORDS.' WITH THE BRAND NEW ALBUM 'KALEIDOSCOPE', MARK HAS SHAPED HIS ARTISTRY AND SONG CRAFT TO SIT AT THE TOP TABLE OF THE UK BLUES AND BLUES ROCK SCENE. AN ALBUM OF GENRE BENDING GUITAR LED TUNES THAT TOUCH ON NOT JUST THE BLUES, BUT ROCK, FUNK AND SOUL TOO. NEWLY SIGNED TO LONDON BASED LABEL LUNARIA RECORDS, MARK DEMONSTRATES THAT IT'S NOT JUST GUITAR SOLOS, WITH GREAT LYRICS, COMPOSITION AND MELODIES, A LOST ART IN BLUES ROCK. THE STUDIO IS WHERE THE 'ALCHEMY', AS MARK CALLS IT, OCCURS, BUT ANY MPG LIVE SHOW WILL TAKE THE SONGS TO NEW LEVELS WITH IMPROVISATION AT THE CORE OF A KICK ASS B...
