Still Life

Assembly Rooms · Presteigne

Still Life is a meditation in memoir and poetry contemplating the many aspects of loss which come when we love others. Carol Caffrey's tender narrative is the central strand. She experienced multiple bereavements when her four siblings - two brothers, two sisters - died within a few years of each other. Liz Lefroy has woven her poetry around this narrative, creating space for pause and reflection; and, for this November performance, Liz and Carol have chosen to include poems by Wilfred Owen. "Still life is a haunting performance: two women with their beautiful voices in a fascinating interweaving of their deeply moving poetry of loss and pain." Deb Alma, The Emergency Poet This event is produced in collaboration with Wings of Change and there will be a discussion and sharing on loss after the main event.
