Hannah Maxwell presents TURN YOUR F***ING PHONES OFF

Falmouth The Tolmen Centre · Constantine

Fresh from a sellout award-winning run at the Fringe this summer we welcome back Hannah with her acclaimed new show. The title sounds like an instruction, but is actually a note to self. It's her own phone she is worried about - the hold it has on her and the data she provides it with. As she goes into digital detox she retreats from doomscrolling and dopamine hits but has an even greater fear of what she sees as a fundamental assault on democracy. In this tremendous show she delivers this analysis with equal parts fervour and merriment! Here are some awards for this show from the Fringe: Fringe First, Stage Fringe Five, Bragi Award and List, LGBTQIA+ Award shortlist - and numerous four and five star reviews. Check out Hannah's own website for details Pre show suppers available from Cafe Tolmen Phone Barbara on 01326 340630 to book

Santa's Christmas Cakes

Foxlowe Arts Centre · Leek

A brand-new family comedy from Badapple Theatre - created especially for audiences aged 5 to 95. At the heart of this joyful festive tale is Rascal the Elf… and true to her name, she’s in trouble. After being just a little too naughty at Santa’s Grotto, Rascal finds herself banned from joining the all-important sleigh ride on Christmas Eve. While the rest of the elves set off on their magical journey around the world, she’s left behind in Santa’s kitchen with a very important job: baking the special Christmas cakes ready for their return. Of course, with Rascal in charge, things don’t quite go to plan. What follows is a delightfully chaotic adventure filled with comic mishaps, mischievous moments and plenty of festive cheer. Original songs, playful puppetry and wonderfully silly “cookery” that will have children giggling and adults laughing just as loudly. It’s a show full of warmth, humour and that unmistakable Christmas sparkle - guaranteed to leave everyone smiling as they head home.
