Froglord

The Victoria · Swindon

Froglord - 'Since the dawn of time mystics have prophesised the coming of an ancient amphibian, bestowed with deathray vision and ectoplasmic slime. Emerging from deep within the mystic swamps of Bristol (UK), Froglord arise bringing their powerful blend of sludgy grooves and psychedelic doom. With face melting fuzz and foot stomping riffs, Froglord’s reign of amphibious terror has begun.' Oneiromancer - 'SOUTH WEST HEAVY. Incorporating influence from everywhere from Stoner to Black Metal, these boys bring the riff in ways your neck won't be ready for!' Thrakian - 'Originating in Bulgaria and named after the ancient tribes that inhabited the same lands, South Wales–based sludge juggernauts Thrakian will be presenting their debut album The Way. Combining oppressive riffs, melodic weight, and raw emotional intensity, the band channels mythology and personal struggle into a bleak and immersive sludge metal experience.'

Joey Gardiner + Live Band

The Victoria · Swindon

Bristol based BIMM Alumni Joey Gardiner proclaimed that "early 1975 vibes" was the aim, and a main and clear influence on the body of work he was set to write. Whilst the conventions and feel of young, indie bedroom pop are there, the rule breaking shines through as his catalogue takes on a more rough and ready rock like feel with a nod to some darker subjects, touching upon mental health and addiction. In early 2023, Joey caught the attention of Adam Crowther from BBC Radio Bristol, where he landed track of the week with the single 'Dirty Cigarette'. The additional exposure led to Joey being invited to record a live set for BBC Bristol, performing eight of his own songs and a cover of Prince's 'Purple Rain'. Adam goes on to say "Joey has a very bright future ahead of him and it has been amazing to have you in for this week. An artist I have been really excited to see here in the studio for a long time, certainly one to watch" Having played a handful of live shows around the UK, Adam Crowther declared that Joey Gardiner was "Discovered Here" on BBC upload, which led to an inclusion on the BBC Uploads Big New Sound 2023. Following a period of writing, Joey returned with the single '...

DJ Nights: Mi-Soul Radio Fridays

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Dinner & Table Reservations from 5pm. DJs from 7pm-2am Boisdale has Jools Holland as Patron of Music, a live programme that runs seven nights a week and a NEXO sound system installed because the music demands it. Mi-Soul Radio has Gordon Mac MBE, Kiss FM in its DNA and thirty years of soul, house and R&B running through everything it does. On Friday nights the two come together on the first floor and the result is exactly what you would hope for. The selectors rotate through the Mi-Soul roster each week, which keeps the sets fresh without ever dropping the standard. Deep soulful house one Friday, classic R&B the next, but always played by someone who has a genuine relationship with the music rather than a playlist and a laptop. Start on the heated terrace with a cocktail overlooking Cabot Square, move inside when the night builds and let the sound system do the rest. First Floor Bar & Heated Garden Terrace Nestled in Cabot Square and overlooking the fountain with the Canary Wharf skyline beyond, the first floor bar and heated garden terrace is a destination in its own right. Fine wines, premium spirits and expertly crafted cocktails, with a selection that covers everything from rar...
