Their debut album, Howl (2024), received widespread acclaim and extensive radio support, being named Americana Album of the Month by The Country Mile Radio and UK Country Radio, alongside significant airplay across the UK and internationally. The album earned glowing reviews from AmericanaUK, Rocking Magpie, and Fatea Magazine, and saw the duo recognised as BBC Artist of the Week across eight territories. Jon Wilks - Glastonbury (Avalon Acoustic Sessions)

The Avalon Club (Avalon Suite) · Glastonbury

Jon Wilks Described by The Quietus as one of the driving forces of the London folk scene, Jon Wilks is a folk singer, songwriter and acclaimed fingerpicking guitarist rooted in English folk traditions, memory and place. His stand-out talent has received regular acclaim from publications including The Guardian, Uncut, Songlines, MOJO and RNR, and he was recognised with a double-page feature in Guitarist magazine. Wilks has released five solo albums, one EP and one compilation to date. His fourth album, Before I Knew What Had Begun I Had Already Lost, was named Folk Album of the Month by The Guardian. His fifth and most recent solo album, Needless Alley (September 2025), received widespread critical praise, including four-star reviews from MOJO, RNR and Songlines. Described by Wilks as ‘a patchwork of memories — what you’d find if you rummaged around in my head for an afternoon’, Needless Alley marks a shift from his earlier, more traditional repertoire towards a collection of largely original, autobiographical songs. Both lyrically and sonically, the album looks back to the music he connected with in his teens, shaped by early songwriting instincts and formative band experie...

MG Boulter - Glastonbury (Avalon Acoustic Sessions)

The Avalon Club (Avalon Suite) · Glastonbury

M.G. Boulter is a songwriter and musician living on the Thames coast in Essex, UK. Serving his apprenticeship in numerous bands in the hotbed of the Southed-on-Sea pub rock scene (the precursors of which were household names such as Procol Harem, Dr Feelgood and Eddie and the Hotrods), M G came to lead, as singer and guitarist, the popular country rock band The Lucky Strikes, who Q Magazine once likened to “The Waterboys on trucker pills”. During the Lucky Strikes’s tenure (which produced 5 studio albums) M G met New York native and songwriter Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers) and formed a close collaborative working relationship with him from 2012 to 2015. M G featured on the lap steel and mandolin for the majority of Felice’s UK and US tours and became a fixture in the touring incarnation of Felice’s band project The Duke and the King. In 2013 M G released his debut album The Water or the Wave, which saw him fulfil a personal ambition to record with the legendary drummer, Pick Withers (Dire Straits, Bob Dylan & Bert Jansch). 2014-2017 saw a busy collaborative period for M G - he worked on long term projects with Scottish artists Blue Rose Code and Samantha Whates, as...

Tales of Spirits and Souls

Kidlington St Nicholas Church · Islip

“Tales of Spirits and Souls” is a chilling story of the Elf-King who spirits away a child, as told by Goethe and Schubert; songs from Vaughan Williams’ A Shropshire Lad; and A Wailing on the Wind, a brilliant piece that weaves musical styles of Irish ballads and reels and American 1940s Big Bands with a banshee’s cry, to tell the story of a lost love when a teenage boy learns family secrets that forge links between the past and present. This is music and storytelling for everyone aged from 10 to 100. Sollar (String Quartet) with storyteller and tenor Daniel Norman perform by candlelight. Lasts about one hour without interval. Expect some Halloween treats and potions - it is Friday the 13th after all. Snap up our Halloween advance ticket offers (£20 > £18 / £15 > £13) / (Under 18s £6 > £5 / £5 > £4) - available until 31 October.
