Angeline Morrison

The Ivy House - Nunhead · London

Angeline Morrison is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who explores traditional song with a deep love, respect and curiosity. She mostly makes music in the genres of wyrd folk and psych folk, her work infused with elements of soul music, literature, ‘60s beat pop sounds, folklore, myth and the supernatural. With a feral approach, a handmade sonic aesthetic and a belief in the importance of tenderness, Angeline’s original compositions and re-stitchings of traditional songs focus on storytelling and the small things that often go unnoticed. * Door 7pm * DJ FlapJackDavey 7 - 8pm and 11pm onwards * Live music 8-11pm * Tickets on the door will be £19 - CASH OR BACS ONLY, SORRY! * Food available! DJ Nights: Mi-Soul Radio Fridays

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Dinner & Table Reservations from 5pm. DJs from 7pm-2am Boisdale has Jools Holland as Patron of Music, a live programme that runs seven nights a week and a NEXO sound system installed because the music demands it. Mi-Soul Radio has Gordon Mac MBE, Kiss FM in its DNA and thirty years of soul, house and R&B running through everything it does. On Friday nights the two come together on the first floor and the result is exactly what you would hope for. The selectors rotate through the Mi-Soul roster each week, which keeps the sets fresh without ever dropping the standard. Deep soulful house one Friday, classic R&B the next, but always played by someone who has a genuine relationship with the music rather than a playlist and a laptop. Start on the heated terrace with a cocktail overlooking Cabot Square, move inside when the night builds and let the sound system do the rest. First Floor Bar & Heated Garden Terrace Nestled in Cabot Square and overlooking the fountain with the Canary Wharf skyline beyond, the first floor bar and heated garden terrace is a destination in its own right. Fine wines, premium spirits and expertly crafted cocktails, with a selection that covers everything from rar...
