About this event

The Haar is on Sunday 1 November 2026 at The Square Tower, Portsmouth, with doors at 19:15. Tickets start at £19.80, including the booking fee.

The Haar will tour the UK this Autumn in support of their acclaimed new album The Lost Day, bringing their powerful, spontaneous re-imagining of traditional song to venues across England. The Anglo Irish quartet combines the staggering musicianship of Molly Donnery (vocals), Adam Summerhayes (fiddle), Murray Grainger (accordion) and Cormac Byrne (bodhrán). The Lost Day is a coming of age album, rich in poetic storytelling, emotional depth and forward looking energy that has become synonymous with the band’s authentic musical expression. The Lost Day marks a major step for the group, a richly textured collection that moves through longing, remorse, hope and celebration, delivered with clarity, lift and intensity. Their approach transforms well known songs into vivid contemporary experiences while retaining their emotional truth. With a fast growing grassroots following and standout appearances at major arts centres and festivals, The Haar are widely regarded as one of the most distinctive and compelling live acts on the UK and Irish folk scene. Amelia Coburn

The Square Tower · Portsmouth

“Coburn is a literate folk-goth, her songs flicker in the moonlight, they look longingly through the mist…” (B24/7) Amelia Coburn has a knack for making the unusual sound timeless. Her honest, occasionally hilarious and quintessentially north-eastern persona disarms and beguiles in equal measure. Drawing inspiration from gothic literature and the shadowy allure of film noir, there is a darkness at the heart of many of her songs, populated by vivid characters and nocturnal creatures that inhabit the liminal space “between the moon and the milkman”. “Songs that feel like centuries old fairy tales..” (Shindig Magazine) A sold-out solo headline UK tour in early 2026 solidified her burgeoning reputation, with slots alongside Paul Weller, Suzanne Vega and The Proclaimers showcasing Amelia’s sound to ever increasing audiences.
