About this event

The Urban Voodoo Machine is on Sunday 29 November 2026 at The Crooked Crow Bar, Leighton Buzzard, with doors at 19:30. Tickets start at £22, including the booking fee.

London legends The Urban Voodoo Machine — led by the ever-flamboyant Norwegian-born singer, songwriter and guitar-slinger Paul-Ronney Angel — return to the road this spring, touring the UK in support of their new album Other People’s Children. Since 2003, this superbly talented collective of musicians and showmen and women has been bringing their raucous, theatrical circus to the people, racking up thousands of shows and releasing several critically acclaimed albums along the way. Uniquely, The Urban Voodoo Machine are the only band in the world to have played both Download Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival, and they’ve toured with true legends including The Pogues and New York Dolls. Described as “a great mix of Preservation Hall jazz, Eastern European folk and rock’n’roll” (R’N’R), the band’s own brand of Bourbon-Soaked Gypsy Blues Bop ’N’ Stroll has captivated audiences across the UK, US and Europe. Their fiercely loyal and ever-growing Black ’N’ Red-clad family is a testament to the power of the live show. If you’ve seen The Urban Voodoo Machine live, chances are you haven’t forgotten it — part circus, part theatre, and a great Rock'n'R...

HDIF Family Disco - All-Ages Daytime Indie Club

The Phoenix Club · London

We've held the HDIF Children's disco at the End Of The Road festival since 2011, and they've been lots and lots of fun. We play our usual mixture of indie pop and soul, and the discos are a wonderful opportunity for kids to bop around to Belle & Sebastian, Allo Darlin', Ramones, Pixies and more, and for their parents to bop along with them. It can often be hard to get out to club nights once you become a parent, so these discos are as much a chance for the parents to go out dancing as they are for the kids. We also want to provide an alternative to the many rave-themed kids discos that are on offer in London. If you'd rather dance to your favourite indie pop and Motown songs with your children, then we're the disco for you! Music will be played at a reasonable level. We'll make sure that the songs aren't played too loud, but if you're worried about volume please do bring along ear defenders for your kids. Everyone is welcome at our kids discos - children, parents and family friends - but we follow similar rules to Coram's Fields - so no admission for adults unless they are accompanied by a child. About The Phoenix: The venue is a wonderful basement bar with a wooden dancefloor. Ent...
