Toby Shaer (fiddle, flute, whistles, cittern) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer from the southeast of England. Over the past ten years, he has toured extensively across Europe, Australia, and China with revered artists such as Cara Dillon, McCusker, McGoldrick, Doyle, and, alongside Archie Moss, with Sam Kelly & the Lost Boys. Jack Warnock (guitar, vocals) hails from Co. Derry in Ireland. An award-winning guitarist and singer, he is also an avid Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), performing songs in both Irish and English. Joined by singer Molly Rymer, whose sublime harmonies bring fresh depth and colour to his songs, Dan will draw from his extraordinary back catalogue, plus his new album Only Love. This is an intensely personal solo-piano collection exploring love, resilience and fatherhood across continents, and the ties that bind us together. He'll also perform songs from his previous albums The Glass Age, Voices From The Cones, That’s Where I Belong and beyond. The Brothers Gillespie

Arts Centre · Ashburton

“When The Brothers Gillespie sing, a portal opens. Seeing them perform for the first time felt like I was reminded who I really was…the thread of their ethereal voices weaving a spell around the room. They sing with an ancient wisdom that is entirely for us, now — nothing feels more present. Their beautiful music will open your heart” Johnny Flynn (actor and musician) The songs of Northumbrian folk alchemists The Brothers Gillespie (James and Sam Gillespie) are animated by lyrical poetry, fluid fingerstyle guitar, multi-instrumental musicianship and “the glorious tones of their blood harmony” (Sam Lee). Theirs is a music of encounter, of lark song and crow call, ash leaves and hidden ways. It is rooted in the earth and arises most strongly for them when they are out walking in the borderlands with their packs and instruments. Bringing together visionary mythopoetics with a radical spirit, the brothers tread an older path whilst singing with fierce tenderness to the present time in its grief and luminosity. Their live performances are known for a rare intimacy and the spontaneous ways they weave tales around the songs and invite audiences into the heart of the music. In...
