Mary Cross: Cross Examination

Sunday 8 November 2026 · Doors 16:10

Cosy Club, Nottingham

About this event

Mary Cross: Cross Examination is on Sunday 8 November 2026 at Cosy Club, Nottingham, with doors at 16:10. Tickets start at £5.50, including the booking fee.

For most of her life, Mary Cross was the star witness in the case of “How to Fit In.” Northern. Gay. Church-going. Straight-A student. Party girl. Barrister. Comedian. Mum. Each role performed flawlessly. Each one slightly rehearsed. But last year, Mary received a diagnosis that reframed everything. Now she’s taking the stand. In Cross Examination, Mary uses her legal training to interrogate the evidence of her own life. When did the masking begin? Was being a social chameleon a survival strategy… or a superpower? And what happens when the performance finally stops? Blending painfully funny stories, 90s/00s dancefloor anthems, and fearless self-reflection, Mary charts her journey from outsider child to high-achieving professional to midlife truth-teller. This isn’t just a coming-out story. It’s a coming-home story. Uplifting, nostalgic and gloriously unfiltered, Cross Examination is for anyone who has ever edited themselves to survive ... and is finally ready to live out loud. Court is in session. Bring your dancing shoes

Pan Ini: Saving Sir Real

Fishergate Point Studios · Nottingham

Sir Real is a Knight, his father was a Knight, his grandfather was a knight and his great uncle was a pig farmer - we don’t talk about that though. Being a Knight is all Sir Real has ever known but is killing people really the right job for him? This is a pun heavy, surreal show about saving ourselves from patriarchy and finding some sanity in utter madness.

Ciaran Shea: Your Worst Nightmare

Barley Twist · Nottingham

From dating witches, to getting high with Shrek, he's a muppet with some stories, so strap in. Up and coming Midland's comic, Ciaran Shea's first ever WIP show, brings together his love of film, a tragic track record in romance, and an incredible talent for disappointing his parents. He's performed alongside some comedy phenoms, and now Ciaran's first Work in Progress show is ready (sort of) with his trademark, quirky storytelling, and some unpredictable surprises in store. He's the funniest comic who sort of looks like Mr Bean, (if you squint), so what's not to love?
