Stephen Catling: Clown Fish Out of water

Cosy Club · Nottingham

When clowns can't breathe water and fish can't breathe air – what's a poor Clown Fish to do in this cruel world? In 2025, Catling (Keep It Fringe Award Winner 2023, Malcolm Hardee Award Nominee 2023 and 2025) lost his slug mask. It was an essential part of his cult hit show Moving On...Really Really Slowly. This time, Stephen explores his life now that Autism has been “unmasked", as well as his fin flapping rage against an increasingly soulless entertainment industry. Who knows what is going to be in store? ☆☆☆☆☆ "A delectable, messy and wild amuse-bouche of zany absurdist comedy" The Crumb ☆☆☆☆ "Stephen Catling really is an alternative gem of the Edinburgh Fringe." Fringe fry up ☆☆☆☆"An intelligent man" london theatre 1 ☆☆☆☆ "His absurdist performance is a joy and a masterclass in play." Neurodiverse review ☆☆☆☆ "You’ll laugh cos he’s bonkers, you’ll laugh at the gags and you’ll laugh cos there’s actually no-one else quite like him." Everything Theatre "For if there’s one thing guaranteed in Catling’s work, it’s that you’ll see things that you definitely won’t experience anywhere else in comedy." Chortle

Jonny Brook: This Isn't The Life I Expected

Cosy Club · Nottingham

Jonny Brook, he's a mad old bag of disabled, but he's got so many hilarious tales about that life, and how shambolic he's become at living it. As you'll find out during the show, he started off as a normal, but has become disabled, hugely disabled.................. thankfully though, he's hilariously disabled. This show will take you through tales of his hilarious inability to talk to his GP, Nurses, Specialists, Surgeons and many more members of the medical community, about his inability to maturely deal with having the legs you'd have, if you could buy them off TEMU. In addition to this, you'll hear tales of his inability to process all manner of humans, that want to speak with him, about how damaged he is. Whether it's a Taxi Driver, Semi Naked Pensioner, Slow Reader of Tattoos, or compassionate Sex Workers, Jonny and his show will entertain you hugely, with so many tales of how incapable he is, at just being normal at all, anymore....................... Denzil de Cristo: Punexplained Phenomena (Work in Progress)

Cosy Club · Nottingham

Denzil de Cristo has an over-active imagination and an excessive love of puns. Punfortunately, he has decided to share both with the public. In this brand-new Work in Progress, Denzil investigates space travel, ancient aliens, drug-dealing fish and ideas that seemed perfectly reasonable inside his head. Expect whimsical stories, nerdy one-liners, daft conspiracy theories and talking animals. There may also be a thoroughly inappropriate Mary Poppins parody. Denzil’s previous show: Artificially Intelligent Procrastinating Pundit received a 4-star Review at Edinburgh Fringe.
“Harry Hill–style surrealism meets George Formby–era wordplay… ricochets from the sublime to the ridiculous” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ One4Review “Genuine and funny… Denzil’s love of comedy and passion to make people laugh truly shines through.” Audience review, Edinburgh Fringe 2025. As seen on The X Factor. Briefly.

Mary Cross: Cross Examination

Cosy Club · Nottingham

For most of her life, Mary Cross was the star witness in the case of “How to Fit In.” Northern. Gay. Church-going. Straight-A student. Party girl. Barrister. Comedian. Mum. Each role performed flawlessly. Each one slightly rehearsed. But last year, Mary received a diagnosis that reframed everything. Now she’s taking the stand. In Cross Examination, Mary uses her legal training to interrogate the evidence of her own life. When did the masking begin? Was being a social chameleon a survival strategy… or a superpower? And what happens when the performance finally stops? Blending painfully funny stories, 90s/00s dancefloor anthems, and fearless self-reflection, Mary charts her journey from outsider child to high-achieving professional to midlife truth-teller. This isn’t just a coming-out story. It’s a coming-home story. Uplifting, nostalgic and gloriously unfiltered, Cross Examination is for anyone who has ever edited themselves to survive ... and is finally ready to live out loud. Court is in session.
