About this event

Matt Winning: Solastalgia is on Sunday 8 November 2026 at The Canalhouse, Nottingham, with doors at 15:40. Tickets start at £19.30, including the booking fee.

Acclaimed climate scientist, Dr Matt Winning (LLB, MSc, PhD), has been given an ultimatum: save the world by lunchtime tomorrow or sell his soul for a slice of Rockefeller’s fortune. But right now, he’s busy: his son is being born and he’s desperate for a piss. From karaoke with a bunch of bankers to petrol station bathrooms and the United Nations, Solastalgia, is an epic story about fatherhood, finance and facing the future, together. Host of Net Zero: A Very British Problem (BBC Radio 4) and author of the Best Seller Hot Mess (what on earth can we do about climate change). Directed by double Fringe First Award winner, Ben Target (not a climate scientist). Part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival

Matt Hobs: 200 Percent Badgers: Badgers vs Hedgehogs

The Canalhouse · Nottingham

200% Badgers: Badgers vs hedgehogs is a stand-up comedy show about the worlds of badgers, hedgehogs, and being one of the country's premier badger comedians. Following his critically acclaimed and sold out Edinburgh Fringe show 100% Badgers (“hilarious and heartfelt” ★★★★.5, Edinburgh Reviews. “belly laughs” ★★★★, Broadway Baby), Matt has dived head-first into the doors that have opened since becoming "badger famous". He's trained to be a badger rescuer, been asked to help in the fight for badger rights, and has had a badger move in to his garden. This show is about taking a trip into the bizarre and hilarious world of the badger sett, following the tunnels and seeing where we end up. Matt will also address the question that has been dividing the country for years: What are better, badgers or hedgehogs?

Pan Ini: Saving Sir Real

Fishergate Point Studios · Nottingham

Sir Real is a Knight, his father was a Knight, his grandfather was a knight and his great uncle was a pig farmer - we don’t talk about that though. Being a Knight is all Sir Real has ever known but is killing people really the right job for him? This is a pun heavy, surreal show about saving ourselves from patriarchy and finding some sanity in utter madness.

Ciaran Shea: Your Worst Nightmare

Barley Twist · Nottingham

From dating witches, to getting high with Shrek, he's a muppet with some stories, so strap in. Up and coming Midland's comic, Ciaran Shea's first ever WIP show, brings together his love of film, a tragic track record in romance, and an incredible talent for disappointing his parents. He's performed alongside some comedy phenoms, and now Ciaran's first Work in Progress show is ready (sort of) with his trademark, quirky storytelling, and some unpredictable surprises in store. He's the funniest comic who sort of looks like Mr Bean, (if you squint), so what's not to love?
