Orchestra Mambo International is a UK‐based mambo, cha cha, salsa dura and Afro‐Cuban jazz orchestra founded in 2022 by DJ Lubi and trombonist/bandleader Jonny Enright. What began as a one‐off concert in the north of England quickly turned into something much bigger, as the chemistry of the band and the response from audiences made it clear that this music had a life of its own. Since then, they’ve played across the UK, including Glastonbury Festival and a BBC 6 Music Maida Vale session, building a reputation for joyful, high‐energy performances rooted in the classic sounds of Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, the Fania All‐Stars, Ray Barretto and Johnny Pacheco. Their debut album, ¡Apúntalo! — named after the catchphrase of veteran Venezuelan singer Carlos “Pachanga” Peña — is released in September 2026 and delivers eight original tunes moving through mambo, salsa dura, pachanga, son montuno, Puerto Rican bomba and Latin jazz, honouring tradition while bringing a fresh UK perspective. The album is backed by a UK tour showcasing an international, cross‐generational line‐up and an explosive, party‐starting Latin sound. Orchestra Mambo International is made fo...

There usually is… Trish Calnan started to play the violin at the age of eleven and studied at the Royal Academy of Music with David Martin. The Brothers Gillespie

Arts Centre · Ashburton

“When The Brothers Gillespie sing, a portal opens. Seeing them perform for the first time felt like I was reminded who I really was…the thread of their ethereal voices weaving a spell around the room. They sing with an ancient wisdom that is entirely for us, now — nothing feels more present. Their beautiful music will open your heart” Johnny Flynn (actor and musician) The songs of Northumbrian folk alchemists The Brothers Gillespie (James and Sam Gillespie) are animated by lyrical poetry, fluid fingerstyle guitar, multi-instrumental musicianship and “the glorious tones of their blood harmony” (Sam Lee). Theirs is a music of encounter, of lark song and crow call, ash leaves and hidden ways. It is rooted in the earth and arises most strongly for them when they are out walking in the borderlands with their packs and instruments. Bringing together visionary mythopoetics with a radical spirit, the brothers tread an older path whilst singing with fierce tenderness to the present time in its grief and luminosity. Their live performances are known for a rare intimacy and the spontaneous ways they weave tales around the songs and invite audiences into the heart of the music. In...

The Linton Duo presents Beau Soir

Arts Centre · Ashburton

Johann Sebastian Bach Sonata for violin and keyboard no.3 in E major, BWV 1016 Lili Boulanger Nocturne and Cortège D'un matin de printemps Claude Debussy Violin Sonata in G minor L 140 for violin and piano Amy Beach Romance César Franck Violin Sonata in A Major This concert takes us from one of the most exquisitely beautiful pieces of Bach to the world of the French Impressionists at the point their music enters the avant garde. Lili Boulanger accomplished much in her short life and her salon pieces are some of the last compositions in her hand before she was overtaken with illness and death. Her impulsive D'un Matin du Printemps is deceptively simple and shares many characteristics with the mercurial violin sonata by Debussy. Amy Beach's rich Romance leads us to .one of the finest violin sonatas ever written: César Franck navigates the heights of musical drama and searing intensity in this wedding gift for Ysaye and despite the notoriously demanding piano part, the players must ride the storm of intense musical dialogue with true virtuosity. Martyn Joseph

Arts Centre · Ashburton

Take everything you think you know about singer songwriters and rip it up. For one man and a guitar he creates a performance with a huge far-reaching sound that is energetic, compelling, and passionate. Be it to two hundred people or twenty thousand, he blows the crowd away night after night. After being signed to Sony Music in the early 1990s, for whom he recorded 2 albums and achieved Top 40 chart success, Martyn became a trailblazer for independent musicians. He launched his own record label in 1999 forging a successful career using the internet, ahead of many other artists. In November 2025 he released his 28th studio album, Troubled Horses, in Martyn’s own words, “I wanted to create a record that felt up-close and personal, songs that are sitting right next to you, on the edge of too close for comfort.” It’s an album of haunting, elegiac songs, acoustically-recorded pared-back lo-fi snapshots. In 2024 he was invited by BBC Radio 2 for a second time to write a song as part of their brand new award winning 21st Century Folk project, penning and performing Chapel Porth Beach, to mark the 200th Anniversary of the RNLI. This was following on from the success of his 2023 tra...

DE ANIMA

El Rincon · Bristol

Brand new trio about which we are very excited. Bristol-based De Anima play “prog-& jazz-inflected ‘alt rock’, singing stories that explore intimate interactions, real life events and politics, often sourcing lyrics verbatim from unusual places” - but that description doesn’t really do justice to their beautifully unusual sound and harmony-laden vocals. They are guitarist/singer Jojo Holmes, drummer Matt Jones (see Nov 12th!), and bassist/singer Jen Bell. Check out their videos at www.de-anima.uk and then snap up your tickets!
