Rob Heron has been touring the world with his band, The Tea Pad Orchestra, for the past 15 years, throwing flavours of classic country, gypsy-swing, rhythm & blues, and rockabilly into his original songs. Originally from the Lake District, but based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, he is well-known for his live performances, and dry humour on stage. He and his band have toured with big-name Americana outfits such as Pokey LaFarge, The Dead South, and Sierra Ferrell. 2026 sees Rob recording his first ‘solo’ record since 2008, delving deeper into that lonesome country sound, yodelling cowboy songs, and more intimate song-writing. Conrad Bird is a rambling rover from North Yorkshire, and after over a decade of fronting the very popular festival act, Holy Moly & The Crackers, he is finally taking it back to the roots, with a brand-new solo EP of poetic folk songs, and Dylan-inspired balladeering. His gravelly voice and his on-stage story-telling result in a very charming stage show. Together, the Cumbrian cowboy, and the Yorkshire rover are heading off on a country-wide tour, both promoting their new solo releases, and briefly taking a step back from the wild rock & roll circus!

Ruth and Sadie were brought up in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire and were heavily influenced by traditional song from an early age. They have sung mainly unaccompanied songs from a wide repertoire, which includes: songs from their family tradition and West Yorkshire; songs which they have learned from the family’s associations with North America (Ruth was born in Canada); and some contemporary stuff. However, they have more recently been singing with the accompaniment of Lisa Oliver on harp and we are delighted to welcome all three back to the club

Some Foreign Shore is an enchanting new collaboration between “one of the finest fingerstyle guitarists of his generation” Dariush Kanani and “the voice of fairytales” Daria Kulesh – an afternoon of pure escapism into the music of Anne Briggs, Sandy Denny, Bert Jansch, and other folk greats. Dariush “captures the spirit of the great players like Bert Jansch and John Renbourn and makes it his own” (Gordon Giltrap) while Daria is “one of the finest voices on the present folk scene” (Mike Harding), compared to both Sandy Denny and Loreena McKennitt. Join two accomplished artists – with intriguing foreign roots and a deep love of British folk – on a stirring and hypnotic musical odyssey of rare beauty.

THE EMERALD DAWN are a multi-instrumentalist, symphonic/eclectic progressive music quartet, who combine elements from rock, classical music, jazz, folk and world music to produce their own original, distinctive and exciting sound—a sound that is cinematic, epic, experimental and powerful. Usually haunting, often beautifully melodic and always highly atmospheric, the music of The Emerald Dawn paints images or tells stories that stimulate the imagination and takes the listener on unforgettable musical journeys. The Emerald Dawn have been making huge waves in the UK prog scene over the past few years, having made it into the top ten in both the Best Band/Artist and Best Album categories in the 2023 annual Prog Magazine Readers' Poll. The band won the best performance vote at HRH Prog XII in 2023, the largest prog festival in the UK. This summer the band will be headlining at the 2024 Soundle music festival. The Emerald Dawn's latest album 'In Time' won the Prog Explorations Plus award for the Best Album of 2023. “When The Brothers Gillespie sing, a portal opens. Seeing them perform for the first time felt like I was reminded who I really was…the thread of their ethereal voices weaving a spell around the room. They sing with an ancient wisdom that is entirely for us, now — nothing feels more present. Their beautiful music will open your heart” Johnny Flynn (actor and musician) The songs of Northumbrian folk alchemists The Brothers Gillespie (James and Sam Gillespie) are animated by lyrical poetry, fluid fingerstyle guitar, multi-instrumental musicianship and “the glorious tones of their blood harmony” (Sam Lee). Theirs is a music of encounter, of lark song and crow call, ash leaves and hidden ways. It is rooted in the earth and arises most strongly for them when they are out walking in the borderlands with their packs and instruments. Bringing together visionary mythopoetics with a radical spirit, the brothers tread an older path whilst singing with fierce tenderness to the present time in its grief and luminosity. Their live performances are known for a rare intimacy and the spontaneous ways they weave tales around the songs and invite audiences into the heart of the music. In...

The Dirt Road Band are Steve Walwyn, guitar and vocals, Horace Panter, bass, and Ted Duggan, drums. They play hard, punchy blues-rock music that makes your heart beat faster. Let’s dig deeper… Walwyn has played guitar for a living for the past 45 years, 32 of those as a member of Dr Feelgood. Panter was a founding member of The Specials. He’s been doing this a while too, as has Duggan who has enjoyed spells with Banco de Gaia and more recently, Badfinger. Three highly proficient and time-served players doing what they do best. DRB started as a side project some 5 years ago and has now taken centre stage. Their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Righteous’ was released in July 2024. The creative process coming naturally with these players feeding off one another. You can see it in their live performance too. “Seasoned professionals with the energy of teenagers” as one contemporary musician observed.

The Good Water - Rather nifty prog tinged psychedelic 3 piece from Brum. Heady swirly stuff and banging heavy shit both performed with aplomb. Sunmachine - Dynamic and atmospheric hard rock from Cambridge. Although their first live show was only in February 2023, their explosive shows are drawing crowds who are pulled in by Sunmachine’s mix of fast-paced bangers and emotive ballads. The energy they produce on stage is nothing short of electric! The Arboretum - two-piece band playing original material that is based around an alternative/industrial rock type vibe, signed to Luminol Recs. Dark, deviant stuff. Jaded Jester - alt-rock/numetal band based in Southend on Sea. Bluesy tinge to the fiery female lead vocal. Good crunch to the music. Talented chaps and chapess. DJ Sammi Starr til 2am

This five piece combines their love for pop music and dark sentiments with a punk ethos. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists - such as The Ronettes, MF Doom, Dry Cleaning and Kate Bush - they've crafted a sound that's truly and twistedly their own. What initially began as an outlet, both creatively and politically, mutated into a musical life mission for its members. Their DIY approach, from songwriting to releasing music and tour management, is what makes The Klittens the ragtag bunch of misfits they are. The band consists of Yaël Dekker (vocals), Winnie Conradi (guitar), Katja Kahana (guitar), Marrit Meinema (bass guitar), and Laurie Zantinge (drums).
